Immigration Lawyer

Introduction

Thank you for stopping by. In addition to other areas of law, I have been practicing in the immigration area for about 17 years. My first involvement with potential alien immigration problems occurred when I taught accounting at North Carolina Central University for about 5 years. A number of students, principally from African countries, were concerned about remaining and working in the United States. I also had a friend who worked at the foreign student adviser's office at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and through whom I became more acquainted with this area of the law.

I was also influenced by an automobile trip that I took with a friend, driving from North Carolina to Acapulco and back, just knowing a little Spanish and expecting beforehand that my American gasoline credit cards would work, and not knowing about Pemex! My thought upon returning was that if I ever saw any foreign visitors here in the U.S., I would try to help them as much as possible.

Since beginning my immigration practice, I have represented hundreds of clients from many different countries around the world with many types of immigrant and nonimmigrant, as well as naturalization, issues. I say that this type of practice allows one to "travel" and be worldly without leaving home! Other than work and the fruits thereof, I enjoy politics and photography.
